Self Evaluation
In this class i believe i should get 90% because i bring a positive attitude to class, participate in every event and motivate others to take part in every activity. I value the time we took out of our schedule in order to volunteer after school and in our spare time. I believe I integrate strong leadership skills as well as communication skills. I feel the satisfaction of helping others and I willfully share my happiness and satisfaction with my peers from this class. I'm definitely going to be joining leadership again next year for another fun experience! Also, meeting the new comers and perhaps even working with the old ones, would be quite exciting!
My Legacy as a Sullivan Leader
The events I have experienced in leadership class have
made me feel as if I have carried on the legacy as a Sullivan leader. Our class
has participated in various activities to which we have helped made a
difference environmentally and in acts of leadership. The humanitarian projects
I’ve engaged in has helped me think maturely and selflessly, it has made me
realize how much we can do for others or for the less fortunate if we work
together as a community. Taking leadership has helped me gain confidence in myself
and initiate more so daily. It has helped me feel like a true leader who holds
enough power to make a difference by engaging in events in order to provide for
the less fortunate.
My goals for this
class were to simply be a part of the community and make a change, to take the
time out of my schedule and selflessly help others, and to participate in
events that count as volunteering. My goals also consisted of personally
improving my communication skills as well as gaining leadership abilities that
will serve as an advantage for future jobs, volunteering opportunities, etc. I
have achieved all these goals by taking this class and made many memories to
reflect back to. All the events I have participated in have helped me in
achieving these goals for they have helped me realize the power of taking a
stand and working together in a community to benefit others. Leadership class has
helped increase my self-esteem and self awareness as well as improve my ability
to work in group dynamics and gain civil responsibility. I am absolutely
certain that participating with the activities from this class has prepared me
to be an effective participant in the work force.
My most powerful experience in the course was the food
drive where we got an opportunity to visit a farm and work together by
physically picking out corn and getting our hands dirty. This food drive made
me feel as if I was partly responsible for making a change for the better in
this society. The chance to actually get up and work our best to make something
happen was truly inspirational. The corn we picked went straight to the food
bank to provide a meal for the homeless. Participating in charity work made me
feel good about myself. Alongside picking corn, we collected food from students
and sent it to the food bank. Collecting little by little from school slowly
added up to a huge amount which bought me a feeling of satisfaction.
In my opinion, the Christmas bureau family sponsorship was
an excellent experience for my group as well. In this project, we met the
families that were assigned to us; we shared many heartbreaking and inspirational
stories. It felt great to spend Christmas helping a family in need rather than
focusing on our wants. This experience made me feel as if I had contributed to
the community and shared a memorable moment as a listener and a learner with the
family. I felt empowerment when I realized by simply gifting a family with
presents I can make a valuable difference. This experience taught me how to
project a dynamic attitude and capitalize my leadership qualities. It inspired
me to transform a vision into a reality.
These past 5 months were
full of various little activities that made a great difference to the
community. Numerous events such as the cops for cancer, Movember whisker Wednesday,
Remembrance Day assembly, and the school tours all involved working together as
a team in order to benefit others and make change happen. We actually got an
opportunity to prepare ourselves for such medical emergency through getting certified
for CPR. This was one of the events where I felt like a learner. The grade 8
retreat event gave me chance to take the role of a teacher and a leader. We
organized the students in groups as well as games for them to play. This event
was certainly my memorable moment as a teacher. Environmentally, I feel like we
made a real big difference in the community around the school by picking up
trash. The weekly cleanups in the community, and also the removal of the invasive
species in the community helped the environment around our school to grow. We
also replaced the invasive species of plants that we pulled out with local
species of plants that should be growing in our environment. This built a clear
and compelling vision of how the future should be and how individuals should be
inspired to help in modern society.
My plans for continued growth as a leader
consist of being reliable and helping create a better future that people can live
in. I have gained motivation to succeed in all aspects of my future goals. I have
bought a positive attitude, ready to work and volunteer to the class community and
the class dynamic. I still look up to Ellen DeGeneres as my icon for I adore
her generosity towards people and it inspires me to do the same for our society.
All the events and activities I took part in are now left to be a legacy for
future students. Making all these experiences fun and worthwhile was what made
it most memorable.

Self Evaluation
A grade that i think i deserve is about 86%. I think i deserve an "A" because I show up to every event with a positive attitude and participate to the best of my ability. Some examples would be the time when we were collecting donations for the terry fox run and cops for cancer, i went around with my friends collecting money for 2 days in lunch and my spare blocks! We turned out with quite a bit of donation. Another event would be the parent teacher meeting. I helped set up and then came for my shift from 4 to 8. I got my friend to volunteer too, whom is not in this leadership class. We tried making it as creative as possible by acting like bouncers for the PE department. We tried making conversation with parents and helped them out if needed. Overall, it was quite successful. Also another event was the tree planting. I have planted before in my garden but i never got a chance to get out and plant in our community. It was a great experience, i felt good that i can say that i helped plant those plants, after some years. I haven't been doing much out of school but i am currently volunteering to help coach a younger soccer team. I help out during practises and games balancing with my own practises and games. I have been working hard in the class, i helped make the moustaches for the month of November and am volunteering at lunch to sell the moustaches that we made. So far I'm trying my best in this classes but sometimes, work from other academic classes takes over and I'm not able to do much! However i do whatever i can to my best ability.
